New to Yenching Academy?

YCA was established in May 2014. Leveraging Peking University’s multidisciplinary strengths in the humanities and social sciences, it offers a Master’s program in China Studies. The program cultivates outstanding young scholars who “understand China and contribute to the world” through an interdisciplinary, practice-oriented, and international approach, while also serving as a platform for cultural and intellectual exchange between Chinese and international youth.

Drawing on diverse resources both on and off campus, as well as from domestic and international sources, YCA develops a China Studies talent cultivation program with Chinese characteristics and international leadership, encompassing both curricular and extracurricular dimensions.

YCA has admitted 12 cohorts totaling 1,292 outstanding students from both China and abroad, representing 439 renowned universities worldwide (including many of the world’s top institutions), with nationalities spanning 91 countries and regions. It has established cooperative relationships with 117 leading universities across 32 countries and regions worldwide.

Our student-led information sessions bring together a general English-language session, as well as regional and multilingual sessions. Learn about the program and application process, hear firsthand experiences, and bring your questions to the conversation.

You are welcome to join any session that matches your interests and preferred language, wherever you are based.

Registration

Most of the information sessions will be conducted online, but you will also have the opportunity to join us on campus. If you would like to meet the YCA Admissions Office, along with current and past Yenching Scholars, you can also register to visit Peking University (October 12, with an online option also available via Zoom) and the University of Hong Kong (October 13).
