Admissions | Yenching Academy Virtual Information Sessions

Yenching Academy of Peking University plans to host a series of virtual open sessions designed for prospective students and scholarship advisors worldwide. Join our online information sessions to learn about the Yenching Academy’s competitive, full fellowship Master’s Program in China Studies.

You will be able to learn about our program from current and past students of the Academy, as well as the Associate Dean and Director of Admission Affairs, Dr. Brent Haas.

Concentration-specific virtual open sessions are designed for prospective students interested in different research areas. The schedule is as follows (Beijing time, GMT +8):

❖  September 19 at 04:00 - 05:30 pm | China Studies (History and Archaeology) 

❖  September 21 at 09:00 - 10:30 am  | China Studies (Politics and International Relations) 

❖  September 23 at 09:00 - 10:30 am | China Studies (Law and Society) 

❖  September 26 at 04:00 - 05:30 pm | China Studies (Philosophy and Religion) 

❖  September 28 at 09:00 - 10:30 am | China Studies (Literature and Culture) 

❖  September 30 at 09:00 - 10:30 am | China Studies (Economics and Management) 


Region-focused sessions are targeted toward applicants from certain regions. While we welcome potential applicants from any region to attend any or all of these sessions, the information included in each regional session will be more relevant for applicants from that region. We will invite student speakers from respective regions to give you an insight of how it is like to study at the Yenching Academy. The schedule is as follows:

❖  October 26 at 04:00 - 05:30 pm| Sub-Saharan Africa 


Lastly, we will also be hosting a virtual information session for scholarship advisors worldwide. If you work in a university scholarship office and would like to know more about what the Yenching Academy has to offer for your students, you are welcome to join us at 9:00 am on September 20, 2022 (Beijing time).


About the Yenching Academy:

Yenching Academy of Peking University was established in 2014 with the goal of pushing academic study of China beyond the boundaries of traditionally defined Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines through a specially designed, English-taught Master’s program. Students from its eight cohorts hail from 84 different countries and regions, and attended around 350 universities worldwide.
