Chasse Helbin (2024 Yenching Scholar)
Originally from Northern Ontario, Canada, Chasse was raised in a small Francophone community. He graduated with honors from the University of Ottawa, where he studied bilingually in Canada's two official languages: English and French. Chasse has held positions in the Canadian House of Commons, the Library of Parliament, and the Senate, supporting parliamentary diplomacy and strengthening Canada's global relations. He most recently served as Mace Bearer of the Senate of Canada—one of his Parliament's most ancient positions—where he upheld parliamentary decorum, procedure, and protocol. As a Yenching Scholar, Chasse will pursue the Politics and International Relations track.
