The Yenching Academy of Peking University will host information sessions on October 30 and 31, 2025. These sessions will introduce our fully funded Master’s program in China Studies, a prestigious fellowship that brings together exceptional Scholars from around the world, offering world-class training and immersive cultural experiences at one of China’s most distinguished institutions.

Chasse Helbin (2024 Yenching Scholar)

Originally from Northern Ontario, Canada, Chasse was raised in a small Francophone community. He graduated with honors from the University of Ottawa, where he studied bilingually in Canada's two official languages: English and French. Chasse has held positions in the Canadian House of Commons, the Library of Parliament, and the Senate, supporting parliamentary diplomacy and strengthening Canada's global relations. He most recently served as Mace Bearer of the Senate of Canadaone of his Parliament's most ancient positionswhere he upheld parliamentary decorum, procedure, and protocol. As a Yenching Scholar, Chasse will pursue the Politics and International Relations track.
