This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. We are delighted to announce that the former Prime Minister of France, Shuhsi Hsü Chair Professor of Yenching Academy, Jean-Pierre Raffarin, will visit Peking University on the evening of 27th February (Tuesday) and deliver a lecture on “Leadership and Global Governance”. Mr. Raffarin will share his personal thoughts and experience on Sino-French relations.

Speaker & Commentor:
Mr. Raffarin, born in 1948, is a conservative politician and a former senator from Vienne, France. He served as the Prime Minister of France between May 6, 2002, and May 31, 2005, and was the Vice Chairman of the Senate from 2011 to 2014. He received the “Friendship Medal” from the Chinese government in 2019. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Foundation Prospective & Innovation (FPI).
Mr. Zhao Jinjun served as Chinese ambassador to France from 2003 to 2008 and as president of China Foreign Affairs University from 2008 to 2014. He was also served as Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of PRC and the Vice Chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges. He received the "Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor" from the French government in 2008.
