President of Chinese Culture Institute of Our Hong Kong Foundation Visits the Academy

On August 8, 2016, Professor Cheng Pei-kai, the President of Chinese Culture Institute of Our Hong Kong Foundation, led a delegation of secondary school principals to visit Yenching Academy. Pofessor Jiang Guohua, the Associate Dean of Yenching Academy greeted the guests from Hong Kong at Jingyuan Courtyard 4, Peking University.

Professor Jiang warmly welcomed Professor Cheng and the delegates. He introduced the development of Yenching Acedemy, its curriculum and recruitment process to the guests. Then he mentioned that students who have a huge interest in Chinese Culture are able to expand their horizon under the multicultural environment that is offered by the Yeching Academy. Meanwhile, He is looking forward to seeing more Hong Kong students applying for the Yenching Scholarship after their undergraduate studies.

Having concluded the visit, Professor Cheng thought highly of Yeching Academy’s achievements, and he regarded it as a visionary international program that contributes to cultivating global talents from around the world, who have a profound understanding of China and the Chinese Culture. Meanwhile, it opens up a window for Chinese students to better understand the outside world.

Professor Cheng also sees a bright prospect in Yenching Academy. He said that Our Hong Kong Foundation is willing to recommend Yenching Academy to more Hong Kong students.

In the meeting with Professor Jiang, principals from Hong Kong secondary schools asked a series of questions regarding curriculum, admission process, etc. The delegates expressed that they would very much like to introduce Yenching Academy and encourage their students to apply for Yenching Academy in the future. Also, they conveyed that they hope Hong Kong students will have an opportunity to participate in Yenching Academy’s summer camp in the future, allowing Hong Kong students to experience life and study at Yenching Academy in advance.

After the meeting, the guests visited Jingyuan Courtyard 3 and the Second gymnasium of Peking University.
